Response Team Rodeo Saturday, September 25h, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Hey, Pardner, don't be ornery! Saddle up and c'mon down to the Rodeo! This fun-filled training day includes:

- Mixed jurisdictional teams with up to 200 participants (CERT and amateur radio)
- Rotation through 11 different stations of 30 minutes each.

- Six are skill drill stations featuring search and rescue, triage, bandaging and splinting, victim extrications, and fire suppression

- Five are demonstration stations teaching a variety of disaster-related skills
- Lunch, souvenir T-shirt, and prizes are included
- Amateur radio operators practice both their CERT and emergency communications

skills
- Networking opportunities with members of other CERT programs at the Waterin'‚

Hole (otherwise known as the Red Cross Canteen!) and while enjoying lunch

Some additional information to keep in mind:

(1) At least three of the rodeo drill stations may not be accessible to people with mobility limitations, because there are stairs into the station locations.  These include the triage drill station, the search and rescue maze, and one of the demonstration classrooms.  If they waited outside the entry to see/hear the action, they would be blocking the emergency egress for responders inside; so this is a safety concern and will not be allowed.

(2) The fire extinguisher drill also may not be accessible to some participants, depending upon their strength, range of arm motion, speed with which they could travel their escape route, etc.  If participants are unsure whether their physical abilities are sufficient, they can discuss this with the drill instructor.  The fire extinguisher drill is conducted in an open area; and it can be easily observed by everyone, whether or not they are able to participate.

(3) All rodeo participants are required to have gone through a CERT class, so they understand that all the skill drills all require at least some team members to stoop, reach, lift, balance on one foot, climb stairs, etc.  Other than the three specifically mentioned above as not accessible, these drills are conducted in open areas or accessible classrooms.  Members not able to practice the skill due to physical limitations could serve as safety officer, recorder, team leader, etc.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
